Hi, I am Alexandra, mom of 2 incredible children and married to my best friend and partner in the faith.
For years, I tried to find happiness and a sense of purpose in all the wrong places.
I consumed endless self-help books, I would study more, analyze my past, find temporary relief in world distractions, try avoidance for temporary relief, attempt to change others in the hope of improving my relationships, only to find myself exhausted, living in my past, not enjoying the present and with no hope for a future. I had so many dreams but no direction to where my next step would be.
I finally realized that if I wanted to find lasting peace, I had to build my life on a solid unshakable foundation. I found Christ and the amazing peace that comes from being fully known and loved unconditionally.
With the help of mentors, I understood God’s will for my life and developed an unwavering relationship with Him. And I am thrilled to share it with you and give back as I was poured into.
Are you ready to finally find peace for your soul? Partner with the Everlasting God and discover your life's purpose, His amazing will for you, and how to walk in His steps. Experience fulfilling relationships and a sense of purpose that surpasses anything you can dream or imagine.
Open your Bible, put in those earbuds, and listen up! God is speaking to you. He is making everything new. Do you perceive it? Let's get started.

No, that God's word is full of truth that can encourage and strengthen you. So let's go and explore these today together. Welcome to Curious for Christ. Do you ever find yourself lying awake at night, wondering about God's plan for your life? Maybe you wake up with big dreams, but feel unsure where to start or what your next step should be. If you're curious about exploring your faith and finding purpose, then you've come to the right place. Hi, I'm Alexandra. I too felt lost, unsure of the direction my life was taking. I yearned to understand my purpose and have someone guide me. But I kept telling myself I was too busy, the timing wasn't right, and my lack of clarity prevented me from being consistent, until I found Christ. He brought peace into my life and revealed the way to find purpose, by anchoring myself in Him. In this podcast, we'll journey together exploring the Bible to gain a deeper understanding of Him and cultivate your own personal relationship with Christ. So open up your Bible, put in those earbuds and listen up because God is speaking to you. He is making everything new and you don't want to miss it. Let's get started. Section one. What does the Bible say about anxiety? I want to be honest with you. I too struggle with anxiety from time to time. Right now I'm facing some challenges with my teenage son. And honestly, I don't have all the answers. And there are also things in my business that I need to figure out and I don't know how to solve them yet. The uncertainty of it all is what can feel overwhelming. And sometimes it leads me to want to procrastinate or push things aside. But. When I opened my Bible and I read scriptures about worry and anxiety. It brings me hope because. It makes me think. That anxiety is not new to God. And that scripture. Acknowledges our struggle with fear and worry. So I too can acknowledge these feelings. And approach God with confidence, with all of my emotions and the situations that I'm facing. Philippians four verses six through seven says do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation by prayer and petition, With Thanksgiving, present your request to God and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ. Jesus. So. God doesn't dismiss our anxiety. Right. There's crypto's about it. He actually acknowledges them, but he gives us a pathway to peace. God understands our emotions as well in Psalm 34, verse 18, it says the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Also God, doesn't ask us to pretend we're okay. He draws near to us in our struggles. Jesus experienced. Also we see in the Bible that Jesus experienced deep emotions too, in Matthew 26, verse 38. It says in the garden of good 70 Jesus said my soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Jesus understands what it's like to feel overwhelmed. And he shows us how to turn to God in those. Moments. Section two. Practical steps to anchor yourself in God's word. Number one. Speak God's promises over your anxiety. We place anxious thoughts. With biblical truth. For example, Isaiah 41 verse 10 says, so do not fear for, I am with you. Do not be dismayed for, I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Number two meditate on key scriptures And stay tuned because next Friday. Hopefully I'll be able to make this happen, but I have had a wonderful talk with a special guest. Her name is Virginia Leffler, and she'll be joining us to talk about biblical meditation and mindfulness. She explained what it is, how it can impact us. And there will even be a short meditation practice in the episode. I really want to make sure that you have all of the tools you need to be successful in anchoring yourself in God's word, in opening your heart to God. And. Really enter his peace and that's why I'm bringing her on. So be sure to stay tuned though. I can't make any promises. I'm aiming to get that episode to you sooner rather than later. So meditate on key scriptures. I encourage you even to memorize, verses that, speak to anxiety. For instance, Psalm 23, verse four, even though I walked through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil for you are with me, your rod and your staff. They comfort me. Number three praise for your anxiety. And let me give you a practical tip. Write out your prayers or speak them aloud. Speaking aloud, our prayers really helps us focus. It will strengthen our faith. There's something emotionally that happens when you release out loud, your worries, and you hear them. Yourself. It deepens your connection with God as well David was even crying to God in Psalm 55, verses 16 through 17. He says, as for me, I call to God and the Lord saves me evening, morning, and noon. I cry out in distress. And he hears my voice. In first Peter five verse seven. It says cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Number four practice gratitude. Gratitude shifts focus from what's wrong to what actually is right. From what we are facing. To what God is doing. You remember that scripture from Philippians four, verse six, it says, with Thanksgiving, present your request to God. So God knows. That? Yes, you have all these requests. But start with Thanksgiving because that'll shift your mindset. Ever so slightly. Number five, seek community and support. Want to encourage you to pray with others or ask for help with anxiety when anxiety feels heavy or have someone pray for you, even with you. In Matthew 18 verse 24, where two or three gather in my name there am I with them? Post your prayer requests on the curious for Christ Facebook group community. Or email me directly at hello. Alexandra Alvarez, coaching.com. I'm here for you. Section three. Encouragement. Let me tell you. If you're feeling anxious, it doesn't mean you like faith or that God is disappointed in you. Anxiety is assigned to bring your heart back to him. It's okay. To feel the weight of life's challenges. But you don't have to carry them alone. A few weeks ago, I had a really bad fall. They are pool. Thankfully, I'm fine. But I'm a say it brought up a lot of anxiety and questions about God's protection. And as I was dealing with the minor physical pain, which was really minor, but I couldn't help, but wonder, where is God in all of this? Or I would think thoughts, like why didn't he protect me? And I started then to connect this experience with other difficult times and past losses, which stirred up even more feelings of doubt. But then during this time, the scripture from first Peter five rows, seven cast, all your anxiety on him because he cares for you kept coming to mind. And then I had a podcast guest speaker. That even did a meditation on that. Very, very, so this verse. Was my anchor and it became a lifeline in the midst of my anxiety. Then another scripture says, and we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans eight, verse 28. So even though I was shaken by the fall, it reminded me of two important things. One, I don't have to carry my worries alone. God wants me to bring all my anxiety to him. And then too. I should look for how he is working in the situation to find a good that comes from it. Knowing that God allowed it for a reason. Perhaps this event helped me release old emotions and fears from past losses that I hadn't fully let go and surrender those as well. After all it says. All your anxiety, not just some of it. And it also says in Roman seed. In all things, God works for the good, not just some things in all things. That's very comforting. So, let me remind you. The power of God's word is that it speaks into every season of life. When you feel anxious, you have a choice either to dwell on your fears or to trust that God is in control. Even when it doesn't feel like it, his peace is real and it's available to you. So that's it for today. My friend, let me recap. The key takeaways. Number one, anxiety is real. And God understands it. Number two, his word offer specific truth to calm your heart. And then three, some practical steps. Like praying scripture. Or practicing gratitude and seeking community can help you anchor your mind and heart. In him. Let me close with a prayer Lord. Thank you for being a God who sees us, knows us and loves us, even in our anxious moments. I prefer every listener today. Who feels overwhelmed by fear or worry. Remind them of your promises, draw them closer to you and fill their heart with your peace that surpasses all understanding in Jesus name. Amen.
