Hi, I am Alexandra, mom of 2 incredible children and married to my best friend and partner in the faith.
For years, I tried to find happiness and a sense of purpose in all the wrong places.
I consumed endless self-help books, I would study more, analyze my past, find temporary relief in world distractions, try avoidance for temporary relief, attempt to change others in the hope of improving my relationships, only to find myself exhausted, living in my past, not enjoying the present and with no hope for a future. I had so many dreams but no direction to where my next step would be.
I finally realized that if I wanted to find lasting peace, I had to build my life on a solid unshakable foundation. I found Christ and the amazing peace that comes from being fully known and loved unconditionally.
With the help of mentors, I understood God’s will for my life and developed an unwavering relationship with Him. And I am thrilled to share it with you and give back as I was poured into.
Are you ready to finally find peace for your soul? Partner with the Everlasting God and discover your life's purpose, His amazing will for you, and how to walk in His steps. Experience fulfilling relationships and a sense of purpose that surpasses anything you can dream or imagine.
Open your Bible, put in those earbuds, and listen up! God is speaking to you. He is making everything new. Do you perceive it? Let's get started.

Welcome to curious for Christ and for those who have been with me for some time, welcome back. I'm so excited about our second. QA of the year. And I love this question. Is it wrong to desire something? When I doubt it is God's will. There's so much in there. Have you ever wanted something deeply, but felt unsure if it was God's will. Or maybe you even doubted it could ever align with what God wants for your life. It's such a vulnerable raw question and it touches something so many of us wrestle with. How do we reconcile our desires with God's plan? Is it wrong to even want certain things when we're in shore? And if you're like me, you may even feel torn between your longings for a career relationships, lifestyle, and your doubts about whether they fit God's will. You may even likely question whether your desire are selfish or wrong. Let's pack this question together. Welcome to Curious for Christ. Do you ever find yourself lying awake at night, wondering about God's plan for your life? Maybe you wake up with big dreams, but feel unsure where to start or what your next step should be. If you're curious about exploring your faith and finding purpose, then you've come to the right place. Hi, I'm Alexandra. I too felt lost, unsure of the direction my life was taking. I yearned to understand my purpose and have someone guide me. But I kept telling myself I was too busy, the timing wasn't right, and my lack of clarity prevented me from being consistent, until I found Christ. He brought peace into my life and revealed the way to find purpose, by anchoring myself in Him. In this podcast, we'll journey together exploring the Bible to gain a deeper understanding of Him and cultivate your own personal relationship with Christ. So open up your Bible, put in those earbuds and listen up because God is speaking to you. He is making everything new and you don't want to miss it. Let's get started. So section one. I want to go to the heart of the question and let me reframe it. This isn't just about the desire itself. This question is about. Trust surrender and identity. So to me, the deeper question here is can I trust God to meet my needs and guide my life? Even when my desires feel unclear. Let's unpack a little bit, the emotions behind this question. There's fear of disappointment. What if God says no. There's doubt about worthiness. Does God care about what I want? There's also control issues. Can I trust him to lead me to what's best? You may fear rejection or failure. And you struggle to surrender control. Your doubt, reflect a need to trust God with your desires while still allowing yourself. To dream. Are you with me? Section two. So, what does the Bible say about desires? Let's start there. God is not against your desires. Psalm 37 verse four says, take delight in the Lord. And he will give you the desires of your heart. This means that we need to align our desires with God's will. Not that he grants every wish. Matthew six verse 33 says seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well. So I want to emphasize here on prioritizing God over our once. There is a tension between our whale. And God's will. Jesus in the garden of gets Demone. In Luke 22 verse 42 said yet, not my will, but yours be done. He was about to be crucified. He had prayed all night about what he wanted. And he ended with yet, not my will, but yours be done. Even Jesus had desires. He had to surrender to God's greater plan. God shapes our desires when we seek him. Philippians two verse 13 says for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. Trust that as we grow in faith, God aligns our desires with his purposes. Section three, how to approach desires with faith. Four steps. Number one. Bring your desires to God. Honestly, share your wants, fears and doubts with him. Don't hold back. Use Philippians four, verses six through seven. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation by prayer and petition, With Thanksgiving, present your requests to God. You may need to practice vulnerability with God rather than hiding or over thinking your desires. Number two. Hold your desires loosely. Surrender control while trusting. God's goodness. As a little girl, I dreamed of getting married, but when I moved here to the United States, my focus shifted to my career and I wasn't sure which should come first marriage or my career. It wasn't until I surrendered both dreams to God that he began to guide me. And when I met my husband, I saw how God had orchestrated it. All. My husband actually played a huge role in my healing. Our relationship became a foundation for that. And he also helped me in unexpected ways, even supporting me on my career path. So looking back, I realized I couldn't have done this without surrendering my plans and trusting God to bring his purposes to life. Number three, examine the root of your desires. Ask. Is this desire about love security or significant? Am I seeking fulfillment in something other than God. You might find that your desires stem from theories or unmet needs. And only God can truly meet those. Number four. Wait on God's timing. I really want to encourage patience and trust in God's process. One intentional date at a time where we can notice God. At work and we follow his guidance. In the Bible, Abraham and Sarah waited 25 years for the fulfillment of God's promise. In Genesis 21 verses one and two, which happened at the very time. God had promised. God, never misses a promise and always fulfills it in his perfect timing. Now I'm not saying that you will have to wait 25 years. But. This is what can happen if you stay faithful to the very end and wait on God. So patients. What's the rush. Everything is in God's hands. Anyways. Section four. I want to encourage you in this section. If you're wrestling. With a desire right now. I want you to know this. God is not upset with you for wanting things. He created you with a heart. That longs dreams and hopes, but he also created you to find your deepest satisfaction in him. Your desires, even the ones you're unsure of are an invitation to lean into God and trust him more deeply. Also doubt isn't the enemy of faith. Doubt can actually lead to deeper trust. If you bring it to God. Proverbs three verses five through six, says trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean, not on your own understanding in all your ways, submit to him and he will make your path straight. Section five. I won't leave you without some practical takeaways. Number one. Pray. Pre a prayer like this one, Lord, this is what I desire. Name your desire, but I trust you to lead me in what's best. Number two, write it down. Journaling can help you process your desires and uncover what's beneath them. Here's a prompt. Why do I want this? And what am I hoping it will bring me? Number three seek wise counsel. I encourage you to talk with trusted. Mentors or friends in the faith. We can't do life alone. This is it for today? My friend, let me encourage you with this. God knows your heart. He sees your desires, your doubts and your fears. And he loves you so much that he won't give you anything less than his best. Trust him, even in the waiting and know that your prayers and dreams are never wasted when you surrender them to him. Let me close with a prayer. Lord, thank you for creating us with the capacity to desire and dream, help us to bring our hearts to you. Honestly, trusting that, you know, what's best. Align our desires with your whale and give us peace in the waiting in Jesus name. I pray. A man. So, what is your takeaway from this episode?
