Hi, I am Alexandra, mom of 2 incredible children and married to my best friend and partner in the faith.
For years, I tried to find happiness and a sense of purpose in all the wrong places.
I consumed endless self-help books, I would study more, analyze my past, find temporary relief in world distractions, try avoidance for temporary relief, attempt to change others in the hope of improving my relationships, only to find myself exhausted, living in my past, not enjoying the present and with no hope for a future. I had so many dreams but no direction to where my next step would be.
I finally realized that if I wanted to find lasting peace, I had to build my life on a solid unshakable foundation. I found Christ and the amazing peace that comes from being fully known and loved unconditionally.
With the help of mentors, I understood God’s will for my life and developed an unwavering relationship with Him. And I am thrilled to share it with you and give back as I was poured into.
Are you ready to finally find peace for your soul? Partner with the Everlasting God and discover your life's purpose, His amazing will for you, and how to walk in His steps. Experience fulfilling relationships and a sense of purpose that surpasses anything you can dream or imagine.

51. God sees you: Conversation with my 10-Year-Old Daughter, Alexandra, about Faith and Having a Child-Like Heart
Description:
In this heartwarming episode of Curious for Christ, I’m joined by a special guest—my 10-year-old daughter, Alexandra. Together, we reflect on a meaningful moment we recently shared that reminded us that God often speaks to us in unexpected ways.
We dive into a story that connected a movie I was writing about and a bedtime Bible reading, showing how God’s presence can intersect our daily lives.
Alexandra also shares her own perspective on God’s involvement in the little moments of life and what it means to trust Him like a child. Join us as we explore how God uses even the smallest details to reveal His love and guidance.
Bible Verses:
1. Matthew 18:3 (NIV): “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” — This verse reminds us of the purity and trust that children have in God, a perspective we adults should learn to embrace.
2. Psalm 19:1 (NIV): “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” — As Alexandra and I discuss the beauty of the stars, we are reminded that God’s creation reflects His majesty and leads us to wonder about the Creator.
3. Isaiah 55:8-9 (NIV): “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. — In the midst of our busy lives, God often surprises us with His timing and methods, reminding us that His ways are higher than ours.
Key Takeaways:
1. God speaks through the everyday moments – Sometimes, when we least expect it, God shows up in our daily routines to remind us of His presence and purpose. Don’t miss those divine appointments by being too focused on your own agenda. 2. Trust like a child – Jesus calls us to have childlike faith. Alexandra’s reflections on God’s involvement in our lives remind us that simplicity, trust, and wonder are at the heart of our relationship with Him.
3. God is in the details – From the stars in the sky to bedtime stories with our children, every part of our lives holds meaning when seen through the lens of God’s involvement. He is always speaking, and we must remain open to hearing His voice.
4. Hope in every season – Even when things seem dark, God’s light shines through. Just as the stars are brightest in the darkest night, God’s presence is often clearest in our challenging moments.

Welcome back to curious for Christ. In today's episode, I'm joined by a very special guest. My daughter. We're going to dive into a meaningful moment. We recently shared together one that we minded me that God often speaks to us when we least expected. Through relationships, daily interactions or even things we might initially overlook. For the story I was writing about my life and I. Particularly, it was writing about a gap year in Italy before going to college. And one night I was finishing up writing about a movie. I saw what it needed to be called Lomo the list. Which translated to English, the movie title was the maker of the stars. The movie is about a con man who sells false promises of fame to poor villagers. By having them pay for auditioning for a major movie that did not exist. And he eventually feels remorse as he listened to their heartfelt and genuine stories. And it's trapped me. First how easily we can get distracted by empty promises in life, chasing things that leave us feeling unfulfilled. But while I was writing about that, that same evening, my daughter insistently was calling me to read her a bedtime story from her little Jesus storybook Bible. To be honest, I wasn't quite done writing. So I was kind of hesitant, but then reluctantly. I put aside my writing to be with her. And in that moment, I experienced something incredible. I randomly opened the book to a story that talked about Jesus being the maker of the stars. The very. Same words as the movie title I had been writing about just a few minutes prior. But while the movie was about a man selling false hope, the story I was reading to my daughter was about a baby. Uh, savior. Jesus who offers true hope to the entire world. It was truly as if God was speaking directly to me. He was reminding me. That he was there with me when I was in Italy. And I did not acknowledge him. I did not know him then. And he is with me now, as I'm reading to my daughter. And he will always be and has always been. I almost missed out on that divine appointment because I was so focused on my own agenda. My work. But God in his love chose to speak in that moment through the simple act of being with my daughter and reading to her. So in this episode, I've invited my daughter to share her perspective, what she understands about God and how we as adults can learn. To imitate the pure trust that children have in him. Sometimes God speaks in unexpected ways. And today. We're going to reflect on how we can be more open to hearing his voice, to find meaning and purpose, even in the midst of our busy lives. So let's dive in. Welcome to curious for Christ. Do you ever find yourself lying awake at night? Wondering about God's plan for your life. Maybe you wake up with big dreams, but feel unsure where to start or what your next step should be. If you're curious about exploring your faith and finding purpose, then you've come to the right place. Hi, I'm Monica, Sandra. I too felt lost unsure of the direction my life was taking. I yearned to understand my purpose and have someone guide me. But I kept telling myself I was too busy, the timing wasn't right. And my lack of clarity prevented me from being consistent until I found Christ. He brought peace into my life and we field the way to find purpose by anchoring myself. In him. In this podcast, we'll journey together, exploring the Bible to gain a deeper understanding of him. and cultivate your own personal relationship with Christ. So open up your Bible, put in those ear buds and listen up because God is speaking to you. He is making everything new and you don't want to miss it. Let's get started. Hello, Alexandra. Hi. I'm so happy you are here on my podcast. Me too. I have some questions for you. Okay. Do you remember, that we read a lot the Jesus Story Bible book together? Yes, we did. Yeah. Yeah. And then there's this beautiful story that I once read. Perhaps I read it to you many times, The Light of The Whole World. It's from the story of the shepherds from Luke 2. I'm going to read this little passage. They caught their breath. They were walking, they were following that stars, and then it says, Then quietly they tiptoed inside, they knelt on the dirt floor. They had heard about this promised child, and now he was here. Heaven's son. The maker of the stars. A baby sleeping in his mother's arms. This baby would be like that bright star shining in the sky that night, a light to light up the whole world, chasing away darkness, helping people to see. And the darker the night got, the brighter the star would shine. When I read to you about Jesus being the maker of the stars, what did you feel or think about that? I felt like that. In the beginning, he created everything. Yeah. And he created the stars that he would be, like, the light of the world. And basically, he made a light so we could follow it. Yeah. And he made the light, he is the light, he creates the light. That's amazing, right? Yeah. Wow. What do you imagine it means for Jesus to be the maker of the stars? I imagine him do I say what I picture in my mind when I think about it? Yeah. Yes. So, I would say that he would be, like, basically it would be like Jesus Floating in the air and him shining, bursting out of him. Yeah, because he's like that little star, basically, all those stars. Yeah, that's true. So the light is from within. And why do you think Jesus is sometimes called the maker of the stars? And what does that tell us about who he is? It tells who he is. It says that he basically, um, he created everything. And he made a light for us to see. Yeah. Do we become the light too? Yeah. Yeah, like that scripture in Matthew 5, it says, you are the light of the world. Or that song that says I'm my little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. Yeah, the song, yeah, that kid's song, yeah. He makes. The star, so we are the little stars when we follow him, we become like him in a way, right? If he is the star creates the star, we become like this shining, we shine bright. Do you feel that God is involved in the small details of our life, like reading a bedtime story or writing about a movie or the dreams that you have inside your mind? Do you think he, he's, he not only is involved, but he gave you those for a reason? Sometimes yeah, sometimes for example, the dreams, like basically it'd be like a sign that he's trying to tell you or something. Or maybe what have you created in your life or like what the purpose of the, of this event happened. And he's like showing you that everything in your life, like basically like everything in your life was on purpose. Wow. Yeah, that's true. And so how do you feel about that? The fact that he's so present in everything, that everything has meaning and purpose with him? I feel like that if there's like something going on and I can you say that again? How do you feel to know that everything has a purpose? Does it make you feel good, bad, sad, mad, happy? Happy. Yeah. And sometimes sad because sometimes I don't like that thing happened. But then I know that it was for a purpose and then a good thing comes from the bad thing. Okay. Oh, that's good. At least we can have hope. Yeah. With God. Do you believe that God talks to us in unexpected ways? You mentioned dreams, like in a movie when you watch a movie like, wow, this is something I needed to hear or that speaks to me about God specifically or a book or a story. Yeah. Can you recall a time recently when God spoke to you in an unexpected way? I can't name specific reasons, but I know that happened, like, when I would watch a movie, and there was a lesson in the story, I would relate it to me and God, and then I would actually oh, yeah, maybe I need to do more of this, or maybe I need to do less of this. Or maybe God is calling me to do this in my life. Yeah, like yesterday you felt emotional about the movie that we watched. And you said particularly when Big Clifford was trying to make himself small. Yeah. Why did that make you emotional? I don't know, I just he wanted to change himself so he could fit in and act, and that made me like, emotional. sad because like he's cute, like he's really cute the way he is, and so it'd be like sad if he wanted to become small again. Yeah, would be different than who he is because he doesn't feel loved just the way he is. Yeah. Yeah. Why do you think God gave us stories in the Bible to learn from? And what's your favorite story about Jesus so far? I think he gave us stories in the Bible because because then like then the Bible would be boring if you want to have a story and you wouldn't have an example. It also be hard to understand because just saying just like hearing like demands and stuff. I want to think that would be fun to read, but a story that would be more fun to read them. I'd like, say be kind, be this, be that. Is it like, one day this happened, and then this happened, and then God told them to be like this. And, favorite story? My bad. Go ahead. Okay. My favorite story is when there's children involved. So the story I like is that Jesus was, like, preaching on a hill, and the children were trying to get to him, and then the disciples were saying go away this is an adult only zone. Yeah. And then Jesus was saying You should be more like these children, and so instead of you acting like that You should be acting like these very adorable kids Like you Yeah, exactly. That's what I'm trying to say. So what does that tell you about Jesus? Does that make you love him more? Yeah that he loves everybody equally. So like you could like, he would say, act like this person more than how you're acting right now. Yeah, be like little children. And that's why I have you on the podcast, because we make it sometimes very complicated to follow God, but it could be very simple as well. And we need to go back to that, right? The simple love receiving love. Yeah. So let me see what more questions that I wanted to ask you. I really like what you shared so far. Thank you. Thank you for being honest. You're welcome. What do you think God was trying to tell us by making the stars? That, um, what do you mean by stars? Like when he was When at night, do you like look at the stars? Yeah. Yeah. Why? Because they're just like a pretty creation, and I just like to look at it, because they're pretty. So basically, we look up at the stars, maybe we would want to look up at Jesus or God. Yeah, it makes us wonder who made all these? Yeah. When you look at so many stars and then sometimes the darker the night, the brighter the stars, right? Then you see them. Yeah. That's beautiful, isn't it? It's like a moment of wonder, perhaps, or of awe, where you admire God more. It's not like the everyday life. It's something beautiful. Something special. It's special. Yeah. If you could ask God to help you with something big or small, what would it be? What would be like, what a big dream besides going to see Taylor Swift on concert? I would say because I I want to be like a fashion designer when I grow up. I hope that I can be successful when I grow up. And so you would ask God to help you with that? Yeah. Why do you want to be a fashion designer? Because I like, I can like never really find clothes that I like and I want to like make something that people would all like and not like those dresses that you'll see on the runway. You like to be creative? Creative enough that you would want to wear on an everyday basis or like basically like someone could say like a website, for example, and you would say, how you want this outfit to be like, and then I would make it for you and then I would ship it to you or something. Because it's really hard to find something that I like, or if I go online, it's hard to find something that I like. I'm sorry, everyone. Do you like to create it yourself? Yeah. Thank you for sharing. Thank you. And I have one more question. Do you trust Jesus? Yeah. Why? Because he made a plan in my life and everything and and like to make everything perfect. And everything will be perfect, but in our vision it won't, but still he did it all for a purpose. And so I trust him because everything has been going good so far, and everything for you has been going good so far, and even if it's something bad, then good things can come from it. So you trust that in the end it will all be okay. Yeah, that's great. And yeah, I like that. And also the fact that the darker the night can get, the brighter the star shines, right? Yeah. If it's really difficult in our lives that's when Jesus, shines even more brightly when we trust him, right? Yeah. And you can see the hope. We can be hopeful. Thank you for answering all these questions. I wish you the best with your career in the fashion industry. I find you very creative. And really very loving. And yeah, actually I wrote you a poem. Yeah, it's in my room. Yeah. Thank you. You're like a little sunshine. Made in God's image. I love you. Thank you. Thank you. Bye. Love you too. Bye, love. Thank you for joining me and my daughter on this special episode of curious for Christ. I want to leave you with a few key takeaways from today's conversation. When we look at the stars, we can't help, but wander and praise as Psalm 19 verse one says the heavens declare the glory of God. The skies proclaim the work of his hands. Just as some songs, reminders of God's creation and lead us into worship, the beauty of the stars can inspire us to glorify God. And just as the stars shine in the night, we too can be a light in the world. When we follow Jesus. Today, we've also reflected on how God speaks to us in unexpected ways. Whether it's through the time we spend with family a dream, or even while watching a movie. Are we intentionally looking for God in these moments? Are you. Knowing that he is present gives us peace. And the assurance that in the end, he will work everything out for good. Psalm 32 verse eight, reminds us, I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. God guides us and counsels us, and we can trust him fully. He cares for you just as he cares for little children. And Jesus reminds us that we must have childlike faith to experience the fullness of his love. Finally remember that God helps us with the dreams we carry. Whether it's through a quite whisper in our hearts or a divine moment. He is faithful to walk alongside us. Do you go about your week? I encourage you to reflect on your own experiences.
