In this episode, I explore the emotions that can arise during important occasions and offers practical tools to stay present and grounded, even amidst the whirlwind, on any given day.

Key Points:

  • Big events can trigger a mix of emotions – joy, excitement, maybe even stress or sadness. If we don't acknowledge these feelings, they can pull us away from enjoying the present moment with loved ones.
  • The goal is to reconnect with yourself and be grounded!

5 Steps to Reconnect and Be Present:

  1. Self-awareness: Recognize the signs of stress, busyness, irritation, or frustration. These are your body's signals to slow down and take care of yourself. (Proverbs 4:23)
  2. Journaling for Insight: Instead of questions that fuel self-irritation, ask empowering questions like "What am I feeling?" or "What's happening within my soul?" Journaling without judgment allows you to connect with yourself and God. (Psalm 42:1)
  3. Reconnect with Your Inner Child: Take time to acknowledge and love your inner child, who might hold onto unprocessed emotions. Let her know you're there for her. (Matthew 18:4)
  4. Movement and Mindfulness: Find an activity that brings you joy and relaxation, whether it's movement or quiet stillness. Honor your body as a temple of the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
  5. Listen with Compassion: Pay attention to your body's messages: tension, stress, restlessness. Listen to your thoughts and emotions with curiosity and love. Don't hesitate to seek professional help if needed. (James 1:19)
